A circle of witches are leaning around a table painted with the well-known protective Sator Square. The square of words contains a five-word Latin palindrome. Sator squares had been found across Europe, Asia Minor,
and North Africa. The square has long associations with magical powers throughout its history.
Again, these witches are in a meeting, having a conversation. Each witch is a facet of a personality. The largest figure carries two babies in its hat.
This is constant desire in all my work, the need to move the figures in a configuration that represents talking, like we are just walking in on them mid-conversation. I like to keep the movement or placement of the figures flexible, so they are in a constant state of play.
