This was the fourth painting I made during my NARS residency, but it was the first one I was truly excited about. The marks in the coat and background give me a synesthetic feeling of wind blowing, calming but with a little frisson? A feel everything feeling. I had a studio visit with the art critic Barry Schwabksy and he pointed at it and said “that’s a fantastic painting”. That’s all I needed… I am not sure where I found the title but I know I came across it in something I was reading.
